While I’m working on a new post — and 800 reasons as to why I haven’t posted lately — I decided there was no better way to fill your time than with some never-before-seen-photographs that I’ve been hoarding of this beautiful place I call home (Juneau, Alaska). Don’t worry, your boss told me you can look at this while you’re at work. You can thank me later.
The boat harbor at Auke Bay is fun to walk through.
That time we tried to hike a trail when it was cold and raining, when I unwittingly sat on our snacks (and smashed them, it’s OK to laugh) and our tarp kept leaking water and one kid had 49 meltdowns in 49 minutes. Fun times!!
A view of gorgeous Juneau from the Tram. It’s a fun thing to do if you’re not terrified of heights! If you are, might I suggest a bottle of booze? (Just kidding. Sort of.)
Echo Cove… a good place to not catch any fish!
I look so so happy, right? WRONG. Celebrating our anniversary at a restaurant where they lost our reservations, tried to make our family of 5 sit at a table of barely 4, where I had a 3 month old baby who wouldn’t stop crying and insisted on nursing, 2 boys who were being holy restaurant terrors, and we had not even an ounce of time to ourselves because we had just moved to town and knew exactly nobody. Didn’t even get a picture with the husband to celebrate this momentous occasion! But don’t cry for me, Argentina…. the truth is there’s always next year.
I love trees. (And those boys in the background) So much!
The views at Eagle Beach just never get old. Ever!
The Northern Lights never get old, either. My juvenile photography skills, however… they’re a different story!
The reflection at Auke Lake never ceases to take my breath away.
Trees take my breath away, too… or wait, trees give you breath? Whatever.
You just can’t make this stuff up!
Because…. starfish.
